On January 7, 2026 , the high school Ojibwe language and Native studies classes had the opportunity to listen to community storytellers in the culture room.
Pictured are: Bonnie Fairbanks, Devery Fairbanks, Charles Grolla, Kelly Iceman, Dawn Staples and Dominic Krump.
Students were attentive, and loved listening to the ancient stories of our elders .

Our focus for the early weeks will be building fundamentals, sportsmanship, and confidence. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend practices when possible watching and learning alongside your child helps build skills at home and strengthens our program.

The intent being is to focus on addressing needs for food, economic and concrete support, and social connection for our community. At our last monthly SNL, these generous resources supported a community meal and a food bundle distribution to all in attendance. Now partnering with the amazing Mission LIC today, the remainder of the food allotment will be issued to all participants in attendance. Hope to see you there-
