Cass Lake-Bena Speech season is well underway and is having fun and some success. Performing their hearts out and bringing home hardware. One of those successes is a first for CL-B! In the category of Poetry, Lily Chessmore (9th grade) won her second NIETOC bid at Bemidji last Saturday earning her an automatic qualification for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Shakopee this May. The Junior Varsity season wraps up next week. Varsity has the month of March to finish the invitational season, including NSDA national qualifiers, before Subsections on the 31st...hosted at CL-B. The future of CL-B Speech's future looks bright!

We are excited that Leech Lake Happy, Healthy, Safe Youth is providing transportation for our 6th–8th grade students to attend and support the Cass Lake-Bena Girls Basketball team in their Sub-Section Championship game vs Pine River-Backus at Wadena-Deer Creek High School (March 3rd, 2026 at 7pm)

The Cass Lake-Bena Panthers earned a big postseason win tonight, defeating Browerville 65–50 in Section 5A action.
A strong team performance on both ends of the floor secured the victory and keeps the Panthers moving forward.

Boozhoo, Cass Lake-Bena Schools community. On Tuesday, February 24, Cass County Sheriff's office will be holding a training event at the old elementary school building in town. You will notice a large police presence at the building starting around 2:00 p.m.. This is for officer training. There are no students or school staff in the building, and there is no danger to the surrounding community.
