Thanks to hard work from Cindy Kingbird and Traci Campbell of the 21st century grant team we have some great news! Cass Lake-Bena will be hosting the Timberwolves & Lynx Academy this summer! This a basketball camp for grades 7th-8th and 9th-12th. This is a free program that will help develop basketball skills for the upcoming season. The links to register are below! Today there is no track meet in Walker. So there will be no track practice tonight.
Boys and Girls Club are having their 1st Annual Leech Lakers Invitational Basketball Tournament this weekend! Starts Saturday at 9am located at the Middle School.

The Freshman Academy brought 9th graders who passed all classes and showed good behavior during third quarter to the Rec Center at BSU, where they got to play basketball, volleyball, and try rock climbing!

8th Grade Language Arts students in Mrs. Maki-Kuhn's class just completed reading, "All Quiet on the Western Front". Ms. Webb the 8th grade art teacher, created an art project looking at symbolism from the story.

Attention to people who drive to softball and baseball games.
Please, as much as possible try to drive off the track. We have student athletes will be using that in some capacity. We just want to make sure our students are safe using the facilities. If you can also try to not park on the track as well, that would be greatly appreciated. I understand space is limited, but it's also limited for our activities as well. CL-B Girls Robotics Team recently returned from the World Championships in Houston TX. They ended the competition with a 5-5 record in their division. They also received the prestigious "Gracious Professionalism" award, celebrating outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values.

It cost $20 to register. The divisions are listed below. There are three stages, Regional (which is what this event will be), then participants can move on to Sectionals, and the State Tournament if they keep doing well. It is open for people of all ages! Baseball tomorrow CLB at Fosston is cancelled for all levels.
Parents of kids in youth sports we are having a picnic! On May 17th from 6pm-7pm we are hosting a meal provided by the Leech Lake Market. This will be a opportunity to ask questions about youth sports and get more info about the upcoming summer! Also the last chance to get your kids signed-up for youth sports. On Wednesday, April 17, 32 juniors made a campus visit to Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, MN. Students were able to tour campus and explore a variety of programs of study. Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement were the highlighted programs for this day.
