A couple quick updates:
1) Schedules & Game Info
All current youth schedules and details are posted here:

2) 3rd–4th Grade Volleyball (Program-Only Change)
Because of our large participation numbers and travel distances, we’re trimming a few dates for 3rd–4th grade volleyball only. All other sports/schedules remain the same.
Sept 27: 4th grade only will travel to WHA.
Oct 11: 3rd & 4th grade will play together at Cass Lake-Bena.
Other listed dates remain as posted in the master doc.
3rd–4th Volleyball Scrimmage Schedule (Fall 2025)
Start Time: 9:00 AM
Sat, Sept 20: No teams
Sat, Sept 27: WHA (4th grade only travels)
Sat, Oct 4: No teams
Sat, Oct 11: Cass Lake-Bena (3rd & 4th together)

This is Dr. Grover. I’m reaching out with gratitude—and a small request that makes a big difference at the end of the day.
Our staff works hard to keep every child safe during dismissal. Lately we’ve had many last-minute transportation changes and requests to pull students off buses while we’re loading. We understand that life happens, and plans can change. When they do, here’s how you can help us keep dismissal calm and safe for all students:
Plan ahead when possible. If a transportation change is needed, please let us know as early in the day as you can.
Avoid pulling students off busses during loading. Once buses are loading, please refrain from requesting students to be removed unless it’s an emergency.
Limit late-day changes. Last-minute adjustments create confusion and strain during our most safety-sensitive time.
Expect busy phone lines (2:45–3:15 PM). We may not be able to answer immediately during this window. Please leave a voicemail if prompted—we review messages and do our best to respond.
Your partnership helps us get every student home safely, calmly, and on time. Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of our students and staff.

Our next 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) Grant Advisory Meeting is coming up!

This meeting is a great opportunity to come together to explore community partnerships, learn more about the 21CCLC grant, and discuss the sustainability of after-school programs that directly benefit our students.
What is 21CCLC (21st Century Community Learning Centers)?
The Minnesota 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) program provides after-school and summer learning opportunities that support students academically, socially, and emotionally. It also offers enriching activities and safe spaces. Your ideas, feedback, and participation are essential in shaping how this program impacts our students and strengthens our community.
Who can attend these meetings?
Parents, staff, students, and community members can join as we discuss program updates, share ideas, and work together to support opportunities for our students.

Practice Details:
🏈 Football (K–6th) – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30–6:30 PM @ HS Practice Fields
🏐 Volleyball (K–4th) – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00–4:00 PM @ Elem Gym
⚠️ Practices for this age group may run a little longer due to buses and dismissal times.
🏐 Volleyball (5th–6th) – Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:45–6:45 PM @ HS Gym
🚫 No practices on Oct 2nd due to the early home volleyball game. K-4th volleyball only.

Dr. Grover would like to welcome back all the Cass Lake-Bena Elementary Students and Staff. Our first day is tomorrow, September 3rd. Please remember that ELEMENTARY doors open at 7:45 and students are dismissed at 2:55. Also, if you're new to the Cass Lake-Bena District, please make sure your student is registered at the front office before sending them to school. Finally, we ask for your patience and grace as we learn our new building. Be mindful of traffic and students during drop off and pick up. Let' make this year awesome!!!
Also the JH FB against Deer River has be rescheduled to 9/25 at CLB. The game time is 4:30pm.
